To get the true likeness, the artist prefers to have two or three good quality portrait photos to work from, taken on a digital camera. ABOUT THE ARTIST

My parents bought me my first Windsor and Newton oil painting set as a child, and I have been painting on and off ever since. Painting is my passion, and even when I don't have a brush in my hand I am thinking of my next piece, and how I am going to go about it.

The artist has never been to university or art college, so I am proudly 'self-taught'! I occasionally use water-colours, but I generally paint in oils and acrylics.

Figurative work is my speciality, both of people, pets and animals, although I do enjoy painting sunsets, sunrises, skies and the sea.
