CORNISH COTTAGE FOR RENT

The rental cottage is a Grade Two listed building with many old features but with modern facilities. The beamed sitting room is a cool haven during the summer months and its large inglenook fireplace, with logs and coal supplied, is a delight at any time of year. A well stocked honour bars with both spirits and wines is located off the hallway.


The dinning room provides seating for 6 and patio doors open onto the garden, giving you a choice of eating inside or out.


The galley kitchen is equipped with everything you will to entertain and dine at home, although the wonderful restaurants and harbour-side pubs in Fowey are likely to be too tempting even for the most ardent home cook. A dishwasher and washing machine is provided.

Garden with Summer House

The pretty lawned garden is perfect for enjoying afternoon teas and barbecues, and the heater in the summer house means that you can still enjoy being outside when the evenings draw a little cooler.

FOWEY TOURIST INFORMATION

Golant is a quiet riverside village with no through route, three miles from the old fishing port of Fowey on the south coast of mid-Cornwall.


Views across the River Fowey estuary to Polruan
Fowey is a delightful village to visit at any time of the day, with small shops lining its narrow streets, cafes and views across the estuary. Boats can be hired for exploring the River Fowey, and the regular Polruan ferry is a delightful river crossing with the promise of a hearty pub meal before the boat ride home.


Local attractions include: Heligan Lost Gardens, Boconnoc, Trewithen, and other gardens surround the cottage, whilst stately homes are to be found at Lanhydrock, Pencarrow, Cothele, & Trelissick. St.Ives, Tintagel, and the fishing villages of Mevagissey & Mousehole are interesting places to visit too.

The Eden Project

Nothing will quite surpass a day at Eden - the famous biomes housing both tropical and mediterranean plants , and a feast of flowers, especially in springtime.

Walking

For walkers there are many coastal and wooded inland tracks to take you into the beautiful Daphne du Maurier countryside.

Flights from London/Manchester/Birmingham: Newquay Airport (35 mins from cottage) Exeter Airport (70 mins).
Par Railway Station (10 mins from cottage), with connections to London/North&Midlands via Bristol.

There is private parking for 1 car and on-road parking for a second car.
